When I try to boot from the floppy drive my computer ignores the disk and boots straight into Windows. I have tried different disks but the same thing happens. I know the drive works because I can access floppy disks from Windows. How can I fix this problem?
Very easily. Your computer has a Bios setting that tells it which drives to boot from. Telling it to ignore the floppy drive speeds the boot process and also helps prevent the computer from becoming infected by a boot sector virus. To get it to boot from floppy, press the key that accesses Setup at bootup (there should be a prompt telling you which key to use) and look for a choice called something like 'Boot Options'. Change the order so that the A drive comes before the C drive.
